چکیده

AbstructA high pressure, high temperature cell has been constructed and used to determine the temperature dependence of the electrical conductivity of various geological materials at a frequency of 60 Hz. Test conditions in the cell approximate an in situ environment by means of a variable uniaxial confining pressure and a separately variable pore pressure. A wide array of constituents of typical oil bearing formations have been examined at temperatures up to 240°C.

Investigation of influences of alloying elements and sintering temperature on the properties of high strength low alloyed sintered steel

Producing parts with high density and improved mechanical properties is one of the most important aims of powder metallurgy process. There are many factors for attaining modified properties in sintered parts but among them controlling type and quantity of alloying elements and manufacturing parameters such as compacting pressure, sintering temperature are the most effective. In this research, t...

High - Temperature Transport and Defect Studies of Quadruple

High temperature electrical conductivity and Seebeck coefficient measurements were performed on the quadruple perovskites La2Ba,Cu,Sn201i, Eu2Ba2Cu,Ti,011, and La2Ba2Cu2Ti,0,, . A transition from nto p-type semiconductivity is observed for La2Ba2Cu2Sn2011 as a function of oxygen partial pressure. However, both electrons and holes contribute to the electrical properties over the entire range of ...

Electrical conductivity of SiO2 at extreme conditions and planetary dynamos.

Ab intio molecular dynamics simulations show that the electrical conductivity of liquid SiO2 is semimetallic at the conditions of the deep molten mantle of early Earth and super-Earths, raising the possibility of silicate dynamos in these bodies. Whereas the electrical conductivity increases uniformly with increasing temperature, it depends nonmonotonically on compression. At very high pressure...

Effect of mass disorder on the lattice thermal conductivity of MgO periclase under pressure

Thermal conductivity of mantle materials controlling the heat balance and thermal evolution of the Earth remains poorly constrained as the available experimental and theoretical techniques are limited in probing minerals under the relevant conditions. We report measurements of thermal conductivity of MgO at high pressure up to 60 GPa and 300 K via diamond anvil cells using the time-domain therm...

Thermopower enhancement by encapsulating cerium in clathrate cages.

The increasing worldwide energy consumption calls for the design of more efficient energy systems. Thermoelectrics could be used to convert waste heat back to useful electric energy if only more efficient materials were available. The ideal thermoelectric material combines high electrical conductivity and thermopower with low thermal conductivity. In this regard, the intermetallic type-I clathr...
